“I've had my 1955 Thunderbird for 11 years and that's the first time it started after sitting for more than a week that I didn't have to pour gas in the carburetor to get it started.  It runs good!

Rog Severson had modern cruise control installed here on his 1957 Thunderbird and he loves being able to cruise down the interstate without having to hold his foot on the accelerator for many miles at a time.

Owners of Classic Thunderbirds should use premium fuel: While it's obvious premium fuel costs more, the benefits far outweigh the cost.  Using higher octane fuel with better additives gives less fuel vaporaization after shutting down, better performance, less pinging (pre-ignition), cleaner burning, less carburetor varnish and less sediment when storing long periods.  Premium fuel is recommended in both the Service Shop manual and owners manual of Classic Thunderbirds.
